Welcome to my Site: Please Enjoy

Welcome everyone to my site: hope you enjoy...

This is my major portfolio, showing five years of work in Japanese Language courses and my time in Japan. Through this portfolio, I will show you what I learn and what I did in order to accomplish my major in Japanese.

Statement of Purpose

In a person’s life, we each must choose the path in which we must follow. Some people strive to be big people in the world of business; others seek to become the next big inventor of the decade. For me, I choose the path in which I can travel across the world; the path of being a graduate with a degree in Japanese.

When I was in sixth grade, I had to do a map project about a country other than the United States. At first I wanted to pick my dad’s country of the
Philippine, but someone already took that so I picked my mom’s country of Japan. In order to look for information about Japan, I went to my school’s library and found a book about a typical Japanese family. I was so interested in the culture described in that book that I spent every time I went to my school's library to rent that same book. This was the first step for me being interested in Japan and the Japanese language itself.

Through my time in studying Japanese I have learned about the history of Japan such as the Sengoku era with Nobunaga and Japanese Grammatical phrases and forms such as “て” and “た” form. I have also learned some of the ideas of how Japanese people think such as the rights and responsibilities as the first born son.

For my future carrier goals, I hope to be teaching English to Japanese kids in either the JET Program or in another English teaching program in Japan. Or I will get a job with the sister cities program with Japan if I can find it.
