Course Narrative:
In this course, I was able to fulfill MLO 1 requirement of this major because this course allowed me to learn about the different ways in which the Japanese people speak, act, and do in a professional matter in companies throughout Japan. An example of this is when my friends and I made a Japanese video about the day in the life of Japanese business man with the twist; we added the theme of yakuza and assassins. Through this video, I and my friends had to speak in professional Japanese style while filming to each other for it. It took a while for us to make this video but eventually we were able to finish it on time and present it to our class. Through this class I began to learn that their style of speaking in business world is a lot different from what I had learned in my early Japanese classes, because of that I felt that this class was one of the hardest class I have ever taken. Because of that, I decided that I don’t want to be a part of the Japanese business world. Even though I took this class, I felt that I need to have a better understanding of the speaking style of business Japanese. Because of that, I feel that I should try to learn more about the business world in Japan. In order to fully use this experience I have learned in this class, I feel like I should use what I have learned in this class in the job when I go to Japan to get a job. However, I do not plan on taking a job in business.
