Course Narrative:
Through this course, I was able to fulfill MLO 4 because this course allowed me to learn about how to write and use resources that could help me translate information into the Japanese Language. An example of this course is how to use Japanese internet sources such as Rikai-chan to help us translate English words into Japanese as well as see if they are the correct words to use. We also learned about the formats in which we would use for our writing and power point presentation projects. An example of this was how we learned that for writing papers we should use “です” and “ます” form while for power point presentation we would use dictionary form to write in it. Another example of this is how to para phrase quotes into Japanese by looking through examples of Japanese para phrasing and trying to understand them. Through this course I have learned much of how to use resources and writing styles for Japanese. However, I feel like I still have some things that I can learn about. An example of this is how I should learn more about the different formats that the Japanese use for their writing and presentation. Because of the things I have learned from this course, I feel like I could do research about the different types of resources that Japanese use for writing both papers and power point presentations to see and compare the differences that each use.
